These photos show Tahoe homes buried by recent snow storms

 The winter storm that dropped record amounts of snow on the Sierra left many residents and visitors trapped inside their homes while local officials scrambled to clear out roads, reopen highways and assist people with transportation.

Around Lake Tahoe, where up to 5 feet of snow was reported in the past week — and more than twice that in ski areas — some people have been stuck in their homes, buried by layers of white, fluffy snow for days.
